The limited edition Golden House brings the tiny home to the next level. Created by Estonia-based studio ÖÖD House as a way to “put a five-star hotel room in the middle of nature”, this unique dwelling is prefabricated in a limited run of 79 units that can be installed in nature-steeped sites worldwide.
Encased in custom-made gold-optic windows and fitted with a carefully-considered, minimalist interior, the Golden House is a remarkable marriage of sustainability and luxury. It was only natural, therefore, that the designers selected AXOR for its kitchen and bathroom.
Elegant yet homely, the main room of the Golden House features a range of elements that encourages guests to unwind. Stone flooring and geometric wooden paneling invoke a serene mood, invigorated by subtle splashes of red throughout. Exclusive fittings by Buster & Punch—a princely leather bed, twin midcentury armchairs and ornate textiles, to name a few—expand on the luxurious residential theme with distinction. Floor-to-ceiling windows on three of the home’s four walls offer an uninterrupted connection to the surrounding nature, whatever that may be—a Norwegian fjord perhaps, or a Brazilian rainforest.
A simple yet well-equipped kitchen catches the eye with its vibrant arrangement of honey-veined marble, red satin cabinets and an AXOR Citterio M Mixer 220 in Brushed Brass. Striking in its radiant finish, the mixer harmonizes with the wood and golden accents throughout while providing remarkable functionality.
The bathroom follows suit with an intricate blend of dark stone tiling, golden trimmings and products from the AXOR One range also in Brushed Brass. Situated over a free-standing washbasin by the window, an AXOR One 140 basin mixer with innovative, water-saving Select technology presents the ideal conditions for a meditative wash. By the shower, an AXOR One arrangement comprising an Overhead 280 2jet shower, thermostatic module and 1jet EcoSmart hand shower offers a sensuous and soothing shower experience.
While these fixtures’ custom brass-hue finish is an obvious nod to the Golden House’s namesake theme, ÖÖD House’s collaboration with AXOR represents an even deeper harmony with this project’s values. Celebrated for its elemental design, outstanding performance and sustainable technologies, the AXOR One collection by Barber Osgerby underscores this project’s commitment to luxury, comfort and sustainability at once.
